SPECIAL FEATURES, ADVANTAGES AND OPTIONS
APS Airstairs - Designed for easy one-person operation,
and full protection of passengers and aircraft

STANDARD DESIGN FEATURES:
Width and depth of top platform give the operator the option of opening the door of the aircraft without sliding the gate back.
Sliding gates on each side of platform are practical in case of miss-parks, and allow for the assisting of physically-challenged passengers from either side.
Back fenders of trucks are fabricated of composite material (no rust and faster repair). Side panels are now galvanized to prevent rusting.
Six (6) hydraulically-powered stabilizers assure maximum stability of truck. Warning light indicates "stabilizer down".
No hydraulics in the cab, the control panel is completely electric.
Slow movement of platform while approaching aircraft door.
Locking feature on hydraulic to prevent accidental lowering of upper stairs. All cylinders have a pilot-operated double check valve as a safety feature.
Manual pump for emergency lowering.
Locking device to assure uniform height of telescopic stairs.
Warning buzzer sounds when the vehicle is in reverse.

OPTIONAL FEATURES:

Clearview passenger covers are constructed with aluminum support frames fitted to airstairs. The covers which are made of a polycarbonate material extend and retract as required as do the stainless steel handrails.
Air-driven, flexible all-weather canopy system is designed to cover the top platform and the doorway of the aircraft. This system, assures a proper seal with less than 2 PSI touching the aircraft, thereby avoiding the possibility of scratching the aircraft.
Bottom-driven canopy to provide all-weather enclosure by covering doorway of an airport bus.
Whip sensor at front of platform to warn operator when he is 6" from aircraft.
Telescopic platform extension which allows operator to do horizontal adjustments of platform.
Auxiliary Controls which allow the operation of the unit from top platform for fine tuning.
A small shock absorber, or spring, located on the optional swivel front end assures that complete front of platform is touching, even with a miss-park. This feature provides for up to 10" deviation and can reduce loss of time which would occur if the operator had to readjust the truck.
Digital display of type of aircraft at different levels.
